Accessing Pfeiffer Library

Tutorials on how to log into your online accounts at Tiffin University and Pfeiffer Library

Requesting Books Through OhioLINK

Your OhioLINK account allows you to request print materials from other institutions.  It functions differently from a typical online account where you do not have to log in to search the catalog.  However, you will need your credentials to request items.  The link to the OhioLINK library catalog is above.  It is important to note that the online catalog is different from OhioLINK's research databases.  To access the research databases, you need to know your library barcode number.

Requesting Library Materials Through OhioLINK, OPAL, or SearchOhio

To request items with your OhioLINK or library credentials:

  1. Click on the item you would like to request.
  2. Click on the "request" icon."  OhioLINK's button will be green.
  3. Select Tiffin University as the institution.
  4. Type in your name under the "Your Name" bar and your library barcode under "Enter your barcode" which is your university ID number.  If you do not know your barcode number, you can log into Self Service to retrieve it or email the library at library@tiffin.edu.
  5. Select your pickup institution (Tiffin University) and your pickup location (Library Circulation Desk).  If you are off campus and would like to pick up the item at another partnering institution, select the school or library under "Pickup Institution."  You can read more about our pickup options and circulation policies here.

*It is important to note that pickup services are only available to students in Ohio.  If you are completing your program outside of Ohio (online), you will either need to find an electronic version of the source, submit an Interlibrary Loan request, or pay for the book to be shipped to your place of residence.  You can get more information about our Interlibrary Loan policies here.

Accessing OhioLINK's Resources Off Campus

You can access OhioLINK's Resources off campus via one of two routes:

  • Use the database links in our A-Z list.  These include the Electronic Book Center (EBC), Electronic Journal Center (EJC), and the Electronic Theses & Dissertations Center (ETD).  You will need to sign in through the library's local proxy using the same credentials that you use to sign in to Moodle.  The proxy page will read "off campus access" with the Tiffin University logo in the center of the screen.

  • Visit the OhioLINK website directly and go to the "OhioLINK Resources" dropdown menu.  You will also need to select Tiffin University from the institution list and "Main Campus" as the branch location when an institution selection form appears.  After clicking "Submit," it will take you to the off campus authentication form.  This is where you will submit your name (last name followed by first name) and university ID number (library barcode).  If you do not know your university ID number, you can email the library at library@tiffin.edu or view it in Self-Service.

No matter which pathway you take to access these sources, you will remain logged in for about 2 hours at one time.  If you close out of your browser window before two hours has passed, you will need to sign in again.
