Search Tips

Dragonquest has a number of facets available on the left hand side such as full text, scholarly peer reviewed, publication date, and source type.

There are a few ways you can create a more advanced search. You can do this by using boolean operators. Boolean operators include the following:

AND
Makes a search smaller by searching for items that have topic 1 AND topic 2 together.
Example: canals AND history

OR
Makes a search bigger by searching for items that have topic 1 OR topic 2 available.
Example: canals OR rivers

NOT
Makes a search smaller by searching for items that have topic 1, but NOT topic 2 available.
Example: canals NOT love

You can also use filters to make sure you get the type of source you need. In DragonQuest, you can select scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals and/or select a source type such as academic journal, magazine, or newspaper on the left hand side.
