Can't find your questions? Still unsure?
Off-campus access to online resources is reserved for students, faculty, and staff of Tiffin University. For off-campus, online access, you only need to know your Tiffin User name and password. This is the same username and password used to access campus computers, self-service, and Moodle.
Select resources may ask you for your last name and barcode. Your library barcode is your university ID number followed by TUP (Example: 000123456TUP).
Your username is just the first part of your @tiffin.edu email address. ITS will be happy to assist with forgotten usernames or passwords. However, passwords can be reset online.
Your library barcode is used for accessing your library account, requesting items, checking out materials, and accessing select resources off-campus. It is your university ID number followed by TUP (Example: 000123456TUP).
Your library barcode is your university ID number followed by TUP. For example, Joe Smith with a university ID number of 000123456 would have a library barcode of 000123456TUP. If you are unsure of your university ID number, you can visit self-service>My Profile>Account Information. You can also contact the library at library@tiffin.edu.
TU visitors can obtain a library card by visiting the circulation desk with a photo ID.
If you try to use your library barcode and you receive a message saying your account is expired, contact your librarian. S/He will verify your university status and extend your expiration date.
As long as you are teaching or attending classes at TU, though, your library barcode should be up-to-date extending to the end of your current course.
DragonQuest is our catalog of materials that you might find somewhere “in print.” It combines OhioLINK’s library catalog, which contains print materials that are only available to those willing to come to Ohio, and Tiffin University’s enormous online collection of books and articles into one database so that you can find most of our resources in one place.
To find scholarly material, the library recommends you use DragonQuest. You will have access to almost all of our databases through DragonQuest, and it will be much more reliable than Google.
Pfeiffer Library organizes its print collection in Library of Congress of LC. To learn more about this system, visit our research guide.
Unless your professor has put your book on course reserve, it is unlikely that we have your textbook. Our catalog and/or OhioLINK may contain other options, especially if you are taking a course with a common literary theme:
Once you have the book from the stacks or receive an arrival email for a requested book, see the student worker at the circulation desk with your ID ready. If you'd like to know how long you'll keep the material, check out our circulation policies, but we'll always give you the due date at the time of checkout.
Returning Books
Books can then be returned at the circulation desk or in the drop box outside the library.
You can renew an item by checking your library account before the book is due. After selecting the books, you will want to hit one of the renew buttons.
However, if the items are overdue, you will not be able to renew your books. You will need to visit the circulation desk to pay your fine and renew the items.
Library fines occur when you fail to return or renew an item by its due date or time. You can always check the due date or renew your items online. Once an item is overdue, you will no longer be able to request, renew, nor check out more items. You can learn more about library fines in our circulation policies.

To support courses in literature and the humanities, some fiction and similar resources are interspersed within the collection with other materials related to their academic discipline. You may also have some luck in our special collections, particularly the collection for Celebrating Cultural Uniqueness.
If you are on campus and looking for the latest bestseller or dvds of your favorite tv show, place a request with our SearchOhio library partners. Available materials typically arrive at Pfeiffer Library within 3-5 weekdays!
