Tech Tip: Virtual Meeting Etiquette

by Brigitte Galauner on 2021-04-06T10:00:00-04:00 in Tech Tips | 0 Comments

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have become accustomed to using platforms like Skype, Zoom, and Google Hangouts to meet and connect with others.  This is especially true in academic settings, with classes and meetings becoming increasingly virtual.  Like being in a classroom, there are standards on how to act when participating in a virtual meeting, online class, or online interview.  There are several sources to help you with online etiquette:

Pfeiffer Library Guide, Digital Literacy: Netiquette and Internet Safety

Virtual Meeting Etiquette (Purdue University)

BlackBoard Collaborate Etiquette (for hosts and participants)

Video Meeting Etiquette (Zoom)

These links contain the "dos" and "don'ts" of online meeting etiquette and how to present yourself professionally in virtual settings.  This is especially applicable to virtual job interviews.  If you have any questions about our digital literacy guide, you can email the library at library@tiffin.edu.
