As campus begins to shift toward the spring seasons for sports kicking off, this blog highlights the 1977 baseball team for Tiffin University. Before the building of the Paradiso complex near campus, the Tiffin Dragon Baseball team played at Hedges-Boyer Park on the North East side of Tiffin. The team had 14 members featured above and competed in the Mid-Ohio Conference in the NAIA in 1977. The team had a losing record this year but was quoted for having optimism heading into the 1977-1978 year for the team. They graduated four seniors in this year and one, Ron Lang, had many talents on the field, switching from second base to pitcher many times during the season. Another senior, Larry Smith, held the best hitting record for the team in the 77’ season and both as quoted would be missed by the team in the 78’ season.
