Using Google Scholar

Tutorial for using Google Scholar

What is Library Links?

Library links enables you to view Pfeiffer Library's subscription holdings through Google Scholar.

Google Scholar typically finds full-text items that are open access. By enabling the library links, you will be able to find more resources that would otherwise be behind a pay wall. This gives you the best of both worlds: the Google interface you know and library subscription resources!

It is important to know that enabling library links will just show you the library's holdings. To access the full-text, you will still need to input your Tiffin University credentials.

Enabling Library Links

To have Google Scholar display Tiffin University holdings when searching, please follow the following steps:

  1. Visit the settings page of Google Scholar.
Settings is in the furthest right option in the center.

  2. Select Library Links on the left hand side.
Library links is the third option on the left.

  3. Search for Tiffin University.

  4. Check the box that reads "Tiffin University, Pfeiffer Library - Full Text @ TiffinU".

  5. Click save.
Be sure to check the box before clicking save!

  6. You're ready to search Google Scholar!

Using Library Links

After completing your search, if you have correctly set up Library Links, you will know right away if the item is available through the library.

On the right side of the title, you will see "Full Text @ TiffinU" if it is carried by Tiffin University.

Click on "Full Text @ TiffinU" on the right to be directed to the library's holdings.
