What's New at Pfeiffer Library?

DragonQuest Is Changing!

Be on the Lookout: DragonQuest Changes Are Coming Soon!

dragon breathing fire DragonQuest, the library's one-stop shop for research materials, will migrate to a new platform over the summer.

What does this mean for you?

Actions you should take now depend on whether you are a student or instructor and how you've interacted with DragonQuest in the past.

Use this timeline as a guide and please plan accordingly.

Before May 12, 2025

  • What happens?

DragonQuest will change its appearance AFTER you search from the FIND LIBRARY RESOURCES box on the library's home page.

  • What will you see?

The library's website, including the DragonQuest search box, will remain the same. Overall you'll notice a cleaner search experience with filter buttons that limit your results to full text and/or peer-reviewed items. Look for the "access" buttons below each article in your results list to retrieve the full text.

  • What should you do?

If you signed up for a My EBSCO account to save articles for later use, back up the information so you don't lose it in the migration.

If you don't use the My EBSCO account, no action needs to be taken.

Before May 23, 2025

  • What happens?

OhioLINK requests for print materials pause and will not return until early July.

  • What will you see?

The OhioLINK request button (green) will no longer be visible in DragonQuest.

  • What should you do?

If you can travel to the Tiffin University campus to pick up print materials, contact the library directly for your best option to acquire materials in print.

If you do not intend to borrow print items over the summer, no further action is needed.

After July 1, 2025

  • What happens?

An entirely new DragonQuest is born, and librarians will be working behind the scenes to launch the new system by the start of fall semester.

  • What will you see?

Old DragonQuest will still be alive and well on the website for just a bit longer. We will begin by sharing videos and information on the library's blog.

  • What should you do?

If you haven't yet, please subscribe to the library's blog to have updates sent to your TU email address. This is the fastest way to access new tutorials as we release them.

Register for library webinars covering the new system. We will update the calendar sometime in July for sessions that will run during fall semester. Registration ensures you'll receive a copy of the recording after the event runs. All events will run in Teams and you must register with your Tiffin University email account.

After August 1, 2025

  • What happens?

As we get closer to the fall semester, librarians will begin changing the library website to search the new system.

  • What will you see?

The FIND LIBRARY RESOURCES search box will change to search the new system.

  • What should you do?

If you're a student, please grant us grace and understanding while we learn this new system and train our student workers on new processes. You may wait a bit longer for services at the library desk as the semester begins.

If you're a faculty member, please carefully inspect your fall semester courses and note any permalinks to library articles that will need to change. What works in August may NOT work in October!

After September 1, 2025

  • What happens?

Old DragonQuest officially retires.

  • What will you see?

Throughout September, librarians will update our website, refine tutorials, and develop videos to cover research-based concepts in the new software platform. Periodic webinars will be offered on our events calendar. Links to old YouTube videos may break.

  • What should you do?

Report any dead links you find on our website and/or links to library materials found in Moodle to library@tiffin.edu to have those links fixed ASAP.

We thank everyone in advance for your patience and understanding throughout this transition. Please know that librarians work daily to make your research experience easier and more productive.

If you encounter any issues as we move to the new system, please do not hesitate to contact us.
