“Kairos is a peer-reviewed electronic journal that publishes scholarly articles relating to the intersection of rhetoric, technology and pedagogy. Each issue of the journal has a theme. Recent themes have included: digital scholarship; technology, popular culture and the art of teaching; electronic publishing; disability; hypertext fiction and hypertext poetry; and computers and writing. First published in 1996, the number of issues per year vary between one and four. Kairos is edited by James A. Inman and Douglas Eyman (George Mason University), with the support of a network of editors based at a number of American universities and an editorial board.”

American Memory provides free and open access through the Internet to written and spoken words, sound recordings, still and moving images, prints, maps, and sheet music that document the American experience. It is a digital record of American history and creativity. These materials, from the collections of the Library of Congress and other institutions, chronicle historical events, people, places, and ideas that continue to shape America, serving the public as a resource for education and lifelong learning.

The "Library of Southern Literature" includes a wide range of literary works of the American South published before 1924. This collection was originally based on Dr. Robert Bain's bibliography of the hundred most important southern literary works and continues to expand under the guidance of scholarly advisors Dr. Joseph M. Flora and Dr. William L. Andrews. This collection begins with some of the earliest texts about America written by British discoverers that set the foundation for American letters and traces the development of southern literature through to the beginning of the twentieth century.

The LINGUIST List is dedicated to providing information on language and language analysis, and to providing the discipline of linguistics with the infrastructure necessary to function in the digital world. LINGUIST is a free resource, run by linguistics professors and graduate students. The aim of the list is to provide a forum where academic linguists can discuss linguistic issues and exchange linguistic information.

Literary Resources on the Net is an open access website maintained by Jack Lynch of Rutgers — Newark. This set of pages is a collection of links to sites on the Internet dealing especially with English and American literature, excluding most single electronic texts, and is limited to collections of information useful to academics although poetry journals are excluded.

Literary theories are explained briefly (unfortunately resulting in a necessary reduction in their complexity and richness). The information here is meant merely as a guide or introduction to modern literary theories and trends. Please note: Site is in the process of being updated and expanded - January 2006.

The Marxists Internet Archive (MIA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit public library, started more than 20 years ago in 1990. If you have basic questions about Marxism and all that relates to it, start in our Student's Section. The Medieval Institute ranks among the top ten of the some 90 institutes, centers, and programs focusing on Medieval Studies in North America. The Institute’s reputation primarily rests on its annual International Congress, the largest annual professional meeting in the field; Medieval Institute Publications, which has published well over 200 books and journals since 1964; and its academic programs, which include a Master's Program and an undergraduate minor. Several research programs have made significant contributions to the reputation as well.

The main features of the database include a repertoire of works in addition to the melodic incipits of liturgical works. Four complete manuscripts, a gradual and three antiphonals, have been added. Browse by Liturgical Feast is entirely new. This displays the melodic incipit of each liturgical chant for each feast, analyses related melodies and displays colour images of source manuscripts. The Browse by Composers, by Genre and by Manuscripts remain the same as they were is the earlier versions. La Trobe University closed its Music Department at the end of 1999. This site has not been updated since February 2004. A new and updated version of the Medieval Music Database is currently under construction and should be available in 2008: in the meantime we welcome your comments, corrections and additions.

The Mississippi Writers Page is a multi-faceted Internet Resource about writers in, from, or otherwise associated with the state of Mississippi. Presented by the Department of English at the University of Mississippi, it is designed both as an introduction to the diversity of literary talent in Mississippi and (we hope) as a source of accurate and timely information for the serious literary scholar. Parts of this web site are still under construction, but information continues to be added to the database.

Since 1992, The MIT Shakespeare Project has been constructing electronic environments and building tools for teaching and research based on digital copies of primary documents in all media, including texts, high resolution page images of early editions, digital collections of art, illustration and stage photographs, and film and performance videos.
