What's New at Pfeiffer Library?

Library Barcode Changes

What's happening?

In Spring 2017, the library began auto renewals of library accounts for all students enrolled in a course and all instructors teaching a course. This means that as long as you are associated with a course at TU, your library account will stay up-to-date to have access to library materials. Now starting this summer, barcode assignments will also be auto generated. Instead of having to visit or contact the library to gain access to materials for the first time, all students and instructors will automatically be assigned a library barcode that is their University ID number followed by the letters TUP.

For example, Joe Smith has a student ID number of 000123456. His new library barcode will be assigned as 000123456TUP. In this formula, TUP will not be case sensitive. Any student with an already existing barcode can continue to use it or use the new formula.

How does it affect you?

  • New students will receive a welcome letter that explains their library access.
  • Since new instructors will likely not know their ID number, we will be contacting each new instructor with this information.
  • For returning students and instructors, the barcode you have always used should continue to work so you will not be affected.
  • If you are a Tiffin University staff member that is not teaching or attending classes, you will still need to contact the library to receive a barcode at this time.

Questions?

Contact the library at library@tiffin.edu for any questions or concerns you may have about this change. All this information can be found on our library access page.
